A Namangan hired by "Wagner" was imprisoned for five years

 

A citizen of Uzbekistan, who was recruited by Yevgeny Prigozhin personally to the private military company "Wagner" and participated in the war in Ukraine, was sentenced to five years in prison. He goes to Russia to work in 2016 and is sentenced to 15 years in prison for the intentional killing of another migrant. Ghalib Aliev, a resident of Namangan region, who fought in the Russian PMK "Wagner", was sentenced to five years in prison under Article 154 ("Recruitment") of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan.

At the court session, Aliev fully confessed his guilt. According to him, he came to Russia in 2016 to work, but after some time, he was sentenced to 15 years in prison for intentionally killing another migrant.

On September 1, 2022, Yevgeny Prigozhin, head of the "Wagner" Communist Party, will personally come to the colony where Aliev is being held to recruit prisoners for the war in Ukraine. The contract with him promises to sign a contract for a period of six months and pay a salary of 175,000 rubles a month, remove the criminal record and grant Russian citizenship.

"About 700 or 800 prisoners agreed to fight. I also agreed with them in order not to go to prison," Aliev said in his defense.

After training in the military camp, in early October, Aliev will go to Luhansk, where the main battles took place. In January 2023, he injured his shoulder and woke up in the hospital.

"I left the military hospital on February 17, 2023. They gave me a reward in the amount of 600,000 rubles," said the defendant. In August, he received Russian citizenship and was awarded the "For Courage" medal.

After returning to his homeland in December 2023, a case was initiated against Aliev under Article 154 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan " Escape ".
