A $150 million Uzbek-Turkish industrial zone has been launched in Tashkent region



The Ostim Uzbek-Turkish industrial zone was launched on an area of 100 hectares in the Zangiota district of the Tashkent region. The cost of this project is 150 million dollars, and it is planned to build social objects such as a shopping center, a polyclinic, a school, a hotel, a scientific center for research and certification, and a vocational college that will teach the necessary professions for manufacturing enterprises.


On November 28, an Uzbek-Turkish business forum was held in Tashkent as part of the visit of a delegation of Turkish businessmen headed by the chairman of the "Ostim" joint industrial zone Orkhan Aydin, the press service of the Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan reported.

Akram Aliyev, the Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade, heads of local authorities, free economic and industrial zones, more than 200 people working in the fields of electrical engineering, chemical products, construction materials, IT, metallurgy, education, tourism, trade and other sectors will attend. representatives of large companies participated.

The speakers who delivered the welcome speech noted that the indicators of Uzbek-Turkish multifaceted relations have increased significantly in all directions. Over the past five years, the volume of trade between the two countries has increased by 1.3 times and reached 3.1 billion dollars. A Preferential Trade Agreement was signed between the countries, within the framework of which active work is being done to expand the list of products.

It is noted that over the past five years, the number of joint ventures has almost tripled to 1,903. Only since the beginning of this year, more than 300 new Turkish companies have been established. In 2023, investments in the amount of 1.2 billion dollars were absorbed.

Such as "Unitrade", "Esan", "MTA", "Menderes", "Zorlu", "Abdi Ibrahim", "Calik", "Aksa", "Tashyapi", "Dolsar", "Cengiz", "Anadolu" of Turkey. large companies are implementing large-scale projects in the fields of mining and geology, textile production, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, automobile industry and energy.

During the forum, Turkish companies were presented with favorable conditions for investing in Uzbekistan. Among the main aspects, tax and customs benefits, stable economic growth, preferential export opportunities to European markets within the framework of the "GSP+" program, intensified work on joining the WTO, and the establishment of many free economic and industrial zones with developed infrastructure and engineering communications were noted.

Turkish companies are ready to provide all-round assistance in the successful implementation of current projects and the launch of new investment initiatives.

B2B negotiations were organized within the framework of the forum, and businessmen of the two countries had the opportunity to establish mutually beneficial relations and discuss the organizational mechanisms of new joint projects.

According to the program, the opening ceremony of "Ostim Global Industrial Zone" was held in Zangiota district of Tashkent region. Business circles were presented with the conditions created in the new industrial zone, and Turkish companies were invited to establish their production facilities in this area.
