Today, on September 11, a critical-analytical meeting of imams-khatibs of Tashkent was held in the office of the Muslims of Uzbekistan under the chairmanship of the chairman, mufti Sheikh Nuriddin Khaliqnazar.

According to the press service of the Office of Muslims, at the beginning of the meeting, it was emphasized that every imam-khatib should work diligently for the cause of religion, people's pain and the fate of the country, and as a religious leader, he should guide the population, especially the youth, to the right path.

In the discussion of critical issues, the fact that some imams do not take their primary duties seriously, do not make sufficient efforts to provide for the needs of believers, and lack of executive discipline were severely criticized. It was also said that action was taken against imams who did not comply with established procedures, requirements of labor contracts and job instructions.

In the past eight months of 2024, 8 imam-khatibs, 10 deputy imams, who worked in mosques in Tashkent, who made such mistakes and did not pay attention to their work as religious leaders and did not fulfill their work obligations adequately, were released from their duties, and 2 imam-khatibs were released from their duties. and 2 deputy imams were informed that disciplinary action was taken.

His Highness the Mufti specially noted that every imam-khatib should deeply feel the religion and mihrab's trust, perform his work well, constantly improve his knowledge and skills in keeping with the times, and be worthy of the status of leader. They also called on all imams to serve in this career as Shariah officials with sincerity, love, piety and loyalty.
