Zionist press accuses Syrian president of reviving Hamas

The Israeli occupation press has accused Syrian President Ahmed al-Shar'i of secretly allowing Hamas and Islamic Jihad to reestablish themselves in the Levant.

According to the Netziv website, which is said to be linked to Israeli intelligence, Damascus has allowed Palestinian groups to rebuild their infrastructure on Syrian territory.

According to unconfirmed reports, allegedly from sources affiliated with Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), the organization has helped secure the release of hundreds of Hamas members who had been held by Bashar al-Assad's forces since 2011, after Hamas leaders were expelled from Damascus.

After Assad was overthrown by the opposition, the HTS leadership allegedly decided to restore the forces of Palestinian organizations on Syrian territory. The Syrian government denied these reports.
