Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's resignation was demanded at a rally organized by the Armenian Apostolic Church in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, with the demand to stop the work on demarcation of the Azerbaijan-Armenia border. This was reported by Armanpress news agency.

It is noted that the participants of the "Tavush for the Motherland" march organized by the religious representative of the Tavush region, Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, as well as people from the regions gathered at the rally.

In his speech, Galstanyan demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Pashinyan and gave him one hour to resign. The Pashinyan administration did not respond to the archbishop.

Demonstrators chanted slogans demanding the resignation of Pashinyan, whom he accused of making territorial concessions during border demarcation with Azerbaijan.

Archbishop Galstanyan announced that he will spend the night with the protesters on the square. He invited the protesters and all Armenians to join the rally against Pashinyan.

Also, Galstanyan said that Pashinyan is not meeting the demands of the people, and now he should be forced to leave his post.

The next steps for Pashinyan's resignation were announced:

▪️First, ensure that the parliament passes a vote of no confidence in Pashinyan. For this purpose, consultations will be started with all factions in the parliament.
▪️Secondly, if this fails, peaceful demonstrations by citizens will begin.
▪️Third, the victory of Spiritual Armenia will be announced.

On May 4, some citizens and politicians organized by the Armenian Apostolic Church started marching to the capital from Tavush, and on May 8 from Gyumri (Shirak region).
