The World Health Organization has warned the world of a new pandemic.

"The emergence of a new pandemic in the future is not a theoretical risk, but an epidemiological certainty," said World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.

At the Intergovernmental Panel on Pandemic Prevention, the head of the WHO stressed the inevitability of a new pandemic.

According to the leader, this is likely to happen within the next 20 years.

"In any case, we must be prepared," Ghebreyesus said in his speech.

The WHO head also recalled the consequences of the coronavirus epidemic, which has claimed the lives of 7 million people.

According to alarming estimates by the WHO, this time the number of victims could reach 20 million.
