Trump threatened BRICS

US President-elect Donald Trump has threatened to impose 100 percent tariffs on BRICS member states if they try to create an alternative currency to the dollar.

According to Trump, the BRICS countries must promise not to create a new currency of the union and not to support a currency other than the US dollar.

"Or they face 100 percent tariffs," the American politician and billionaire threatened on his Truth Social social network.

He added that any BRICS country trying to devalue the dollar would be saying goodbye to the US.

Earlier, at the BRICS summit in Kazan, Russian President Vladimir Putin denied any plans to abandon or fight against the dollar, but said that the association was forced to find an alternative to the American currency, as these countries were not allowed to trade in dollars.
