Trump resumes deliveries of heavy bombs to Israel
On January 26, 2025, US President Donald Trump issued an order to resume the supply of heavy bombs to Israel. This decision lifted the ban imposed by his predecessor, Joe Biden.
According to reports, 1,800 MK-84 heavy bombs from US stocks are planned to be delivered to Israel. These weapons weigh about a ton and are mainly used in air strikes. Explaining his decision, Trump noted that these weapons were previously purchased by Israel and payments were made.
"They will receive these weapons. They paid for them and they waited a long time," Trump was quoted as saying by Reuters.
Meanwhile, Israel has been using these bombs regularly in the Gaza Strip, turning the area into a wasteland. Over the past 15 months, these attacks have killed at least 47,000 Palestinians, injured more than 130,000, and left nearly 15,000 missing.
Official data on the volume of US arms supplies to Israel is also provided. According to it, from October 2023 to September 2024, weapons worth $17.9 billion were delivered to Israel.
