According to the order, extremist Jewish settlers who have committed violence against Palestinians in the recently occupied West Bank will be subject to sanctions by the US administration.
Persons included in the sanctions list cannot carry out transactions in the American financial system, cannot obtain visas to this country, their assets in the United States, if any, are frozen, and American citizens are prohibited from doing business with these people.
In a related statement, Biden stressed that the United States took this step to prevent a deterioration of security and stability in the West Bank, stressing that acts of violence against Palestinians in the region are unacceptable.
