The Russian president called on the intelligence services of the CIS to cooperate in the current geopolitical tension


The 20th meeting of the heads of security agencies and intelligence services of the CIS countries is taking place in Moscow. The President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, in his welcoming speech to the participants of the meeting, called on the intelligence services of the CIS to cooperate in the current geopolitical tension.

Russian President Vladimir Putin called on the intelligence services of the CIS countries to cooperate constructively in the current geopolitical tensions. "It is important to prevent instability within the Commonwealth and neighboring regions. For this, as before, identify any negative trends and potential threats to collective security," said the Russian president.

In his opinion, in order to strengthen security, intelligence services should not only study threats, but also predict their development, exchange information and work experience.

He expressed confidence that this latest meeting is an important stage in deepening partnership for the welfare of states and peoples, that it will serve to strengthen peace and security in the sphere of cooperation, and will enable joint development of solutions aimed at protecting mutually beneficial relations. Protection of the CIS countries from internal and external threats and establishment of new ones corresponding to current problems, formation of forms and mechanisms of cooperation between intelligence services.

At the moment, a meeting of the heads of security agencies and intelligence services of the CIS countries is being held in Moscow on intelligence activities. Delegations of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are taking part in it. The participants of the meeting are discussing the results of joint work, the tasks and priorities of the future mutual cooperation of the intelligence services of the CIS countries in the near future.
