The leaders of Uzbekistan and Russia discussed current issues of bilateral cooperation
The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin in a telephone conversation held on December 11 discussed the urgent issues of further development and strengthening of Uzbekistan-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance relations.
During the state visit of the Russian President to Uzbekistan in May of this year, the issues of implementation of the agreements reached on the basis of the "road map" approved by the leaders were discussed in detail.
The results of the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation and the bilateral negotiations held yesterday in Moscow were highly appreciated.
It was emphasized the importance of taking coordinated measures aimed at ensuring the growth of mutual trade indicators, accelerating cooperation projects in industry, energy, transport, agriculture and other sectors, and continuing active dialogues at the level of Uzbekistan and Russian regions and business organizations.
It was noted that cooperation in the fields of innovation, artificial intelligence, education and medicine is expanding. In November, events within the framework of Days of Uzbekistan culture were successfully held in Russia.
Issues on the international agenda and multilateral cooperation in regional organizations were also discussed in terms of preparation for high-level meetings to be held at the end of December this year.
