The largest square skyscraper will be built in Riyadh

Saudi Arabia has begun construction of the world's largest cube-shaped building in the capital city of Riyadh. Currently, the excavation works are nearing completion, and the foundation of the building is almost ready.

According to the project, the length and height of each wall of the skyscraper will be a record 400 meters, and the area of the entire object will be 19 square kilometers.

More than 104,000 residential buildings, 9,000 hotel rooms, office and shopping centers, as well as cultural and entertainment facilities will be built in the futuristic New Murabba area.

The project is expected to help create approximately 334,000 jobs and add £40bn to Saudi Arabia's non-oil GDP.

Inside the cube is a spiral tower that reaches up to the ceiling. Shops and tourist facilities will be placed around it.

Project implementation process AtkinsR é alis of Canada   manages , and for financing works New Jam Development Company is responsible. The concept of the New Murabba district is a city within a city: all functional and entertainment facilities, including a 45,000-seat stadium, will be within 15 minutes' walking distance. Completion of construction is scheduled for 2030. About 900 workers work at the construction site every day.

The title of the world's largest cube-shaped building is currently held by the Boeing factory in Everett, Washington.

Earlier, a new skyscraper project named Discovery Tower was presented in Saudi Arabia. A 110-story building is planned to be built in the Trojena ski resort in Neom. It is crystal-shaped and has a view of an artificial lake from its windows.
