Since last week, fierce clashes have been registered between the Palestinian resistance forces and the Israeli army in the Jebaliya refugee camp in the north of Gaza and in the Shujaya area in the east of the exclave , Anadolu reports .

According to witnesses, the Israeli army is trying to advance in these two areas, but is unable to do so due to resistance.

Israeli tanks surround the camp from the west, north and south, and houses, roads and infrastructure are being heavily shelled by artillery and airstrikes.

Palestinian resistance groups clash with Israeli forces near the Jebalia refugee camp, using machine guns, anti-tank shells and mortars.

A similar scene is observed in the Shujaiya area east of Gaza City. Israeli troops in the east of the region are trying to push further inland.

The Izzad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the militant wing of Hamas, are also engaged in battles with the Israeli military. Fighter Wing members not only engage in head-to-head engagements, but also deploy anti-tank missiles and explosive devices.

According to local sources, Israeli artillery units have been intensively shelling the Shujaya area since the morning of December 11. As a result of the bombing, black smoke rose into the sky and fires started in many places of the region.

Witnesses told Anadolu Agency that violent clashes took place between the resistance forces and the Israeli army from Shujaiya area and Jebaliya refugee camp. Palestinian groups fired rockets from these areas, and Israeli helicopters landed several times at various points. As a rule, these flights are usually carried out in order to evacuate wounded and dead Israeli army soldiers from the battlefields. Prior to the evacuation, the Israeli army used smoke bombs and intensively bombarded areas where Palestinian resistance groups had gathered.

Currently, the number of victims of Israeli attacks has exceeded 18,200 people, most of whom are women and children. There are thousands of victims under the rubble of destroyed buildings in the exclave.

Gaza's 2.3 million people are suffering from food, water and medicine shortages due to massive Israeli air, land and sea bombardments and a total blockade of the exclave.

Thousands of buildings, including hospitals, mosques and churches, have been damaged or completely destroyed by Israeli air and ground attacks on the besieged exclave since last month.

In Israel, the official number of victims is about 1,200.
