The Israeli army is planning a ground attack on Lebanese territory. For this purpose, two reserve brigades are being transferred to the north. The number of Lebanese killed in air attacks reached 609 people.

The Israeli army has decided to move two brigades of reserve soldiers to the north of the country ahead of a possible ground attack on Lebanon, Anadolu Agency reports.

According to the Israeli army, after assessing the situation, 2 brigades of reservists were called to northern Israel "to carry out urgent tasks".

Such a move will create the necessary conditions to continue the fight against Hezbollah and return displaced Israelis to their homes," the army said.

It is noteworthy that this decision was taken at a time when the possibility of an Israeli ground attack on Lebanon was in the center of active discussions.

Earlier, the commander of the Northern Command of the Israeli army, Ori Gordin, said that the army has "entered a new phase" of clashes with Hezbollah and called on Lebanon to be ready for a possible ground attack.

In turn, in the last 24 hours, the number of people killed as a result of Israeli airstrikes on Lebanese territory has reached 51. Another 223 people were injured.

Thus, the number of victims of Israel's attacks on Lebanon since September 23 has reached 609 people.
