The European Union has announced the allocation of 31 million euros to strengthen the healthcare system in Afghanistan.

Funds will be directed to improving the quality of medical services and expanding treatment options.

16 million euros of the total amount will be transferred to the World Health Organization (WHO), and 15 million euros to the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). Funding is aimed at supporting critical health issues, including disease prevention and treatment, as well as gynaecology, maternity, neonatal and child and adolescent services.

The representatives of the European Union emphasized the importance of these measures, especially in terms of efforts to improve maternal and child health, as well as to expand medical services to the population of hard-to-reach areas.
