The Taliban submitted an application to participate in the BRICS summit to be held in Kazan on October 22-24, BAZA reported.

On behalf of the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Government of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Nuriddin Azizi, he sent a written application to the assistant of the Russian President, Yuriy Ushakov, with a request to participate in the BRICS summit.

In his letter, Minister of Industry Nuriddin Azizi said, "Afghanistan's participation in the BRICS summit is important for the development of not only Afghans, but also all countries in the region. Zero wrote that "it is a bridge to Central and South Asia and plays an important role for regional stability and economic development."

It is noted that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is not the only unrecognized country that has announced its participation in the upcoming BRICS summit. Among the participants of the summit will be Palestine (a state with limited recognition), whose representatives have previously expressed their desire to join BRICS.

According to many experts, this is more of a political step for Palestine, and for BRICS it is a political signal that for the first time this association is paying attention to countries and territories that are not fully recognized politically by the rest of the world.
