Tajikistan imposes restrictions on New Year's events in schools and kindergartens

The Ministry of Education and Science of Tajikistan has banned the installation of Christmas trees and other festivities in schools, universities, and preschools on New Year's Eve. The news is being hotly discussed in the Tajik segment of social networks.

The ministry said that instead of holding festive events in schools and kindergartens, cultural events such as poetry readings and drawing can be organized within the framework of lessons and classroom hours. Also, there are no restrictions on activities that are compatible with the curriculum in general education schools.

Currently, entertainment programs are being organized for schoolchildren in four districts of Dushanbe, and Christmas trees have been set up so that they can spend time with their parents.

For your information, New Year celebrations in schools and kindergartens have been banned in Tajikistan since 2012. This decision was made to combat waste and based on complaints from parents about the collection of funds for festive events.
