Tajikistan has banned games like Counter Strike and GTA
In Tajikistan, the popular games Grand Theft Auto (GTA) and Counter-Strike have been banned "because they do not correspond to moral and cultural standards". Restrictions apply to computer clubs and gaming centers, and raids will be conducted throughout the country to ensure the implementation of the decision.
Popular games Grand Theft Auto (GTA) and Counter-Strike have been banned in Tajikistan. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan, relying on the information of the historical and cultural expertise of the Ministry of Culture, said that these games, filled with scenes of violence, murder and robbery, have a negative effect on young people.
The Ministry added that under the influence of such games, aggressive behavior appears in teenagers, and their tendency to commit crimes is increasing. The Ministry of Culture, in turn, stated that such games do not correspond to the moral and cultural standards of the country, and this was the basis for the ban.
According to the Dushanbe police, the restrictions apply to the owners of computer clubs and game centers, which should no longer play banned games on their premises. In order to control the implementation of these measures, it is planned to conduct raids in computer clubs throughout the republic.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs also advised parents to carefully monitor which games their children prefer in order to prevent negative effects.
Earlier, the Russian State Duma also proposed banning games such as Counter Strike and GTA that promote violence, brutality or contain obscene language.
