State body for standardization "Halol" established in Russia

A technical committee for the standardization of halal products and services has been established in Russia. The committee includes about 40 organizations and is headed by Ruslan Edelgeriev, an assistant to the Russian president.

The committee's mission is to develop national standards for the production, supply, and sale of halal products, as well as harmonize them with international requirements. It also develops clear criteria for certification and new inspection methods.

This initiative is said to be aimed at improving product quality and safety, as well as strengthening Russia's position in the export of halal products.

Earlier, it was announced that by the end of 2025, a special state standard will be developed in Russia that will meet the requirements of halal in hotels and tourist facilities.
