Severe cold kills 6 babies in Gaza

Hamas says six babies have died of cold in the Gaza Strip due to Israel's policy of blocking humanitarian aid. Israel has blocked humanitarian aid and housing for more than 2 million Palestinians.

The movement's statement said that "as a result of the political crimes committed by the Israeli occupation government, six babies have died in the Gaza Strip due to the severe cold and lack of heating."

Israel is reportedly preventing the delivery of humanitarian aid and housing supplies to more than 2 million Palestinians in Gaza, while the international community remains silent in the face of the humanitarian disaster in Gaza due to the Israeli blockade and attacks.

The statement called on the mediators - the United States, Egypt and Qatar - to "take urgent measures to prevent a breakdown in the peace process."

It calls on Israel to comply with the humanitarian protocol under the ceasefire agreement and guarantee the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, including shelter, heating equipment, and medicine.

HAMAS drew attention to the importance of protecting Palestinian children in Gaza, recalling that more than 17,000 children have been killed in more than 15 months of Israeli attacks.

Israel's 15-month-long offensive in Gaza has killed more than 61,000 Palestinians and displaced 2 million.

The attacks destroyed 88 percent of the Gaza Strip's infrastructure, including hospitals, homes, and schools housing displaced Palestinians.

Because Israel has long blocked humanitarian aid from reaching Gaza, the region's residents are in dire need of food, clean water, housing, and heating materials.
