Russian businessman pays for Hajj expenses of 5,000 Muslims
Prominent Russian businessman Suleiman Kerimov plans to send 5,000 Muslims to Saudi Arabia for the Hajj pilgrimage this year at his own expense. Priority will be given to Muslims who actively assisted participants in the war in Ukraine, their families, and the wounded.
Referrals to these individuals are distributed through activities such as visiting hospitals, working in rehabilitation centers, and providing humanitarian assistance on the front lines.
2.5 thousand vouchers will be distributed by the Religious Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation among religious organizations distributed in more than 60 regions. The remaining 2.5 thousand vouchers are intended for the residents of Dagestan. Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin announced this during Friday prayers.
Last year, Suleiman Kerimov also paid for the expenses of going to Hajj.
