Russia imposes temporary restrictions on durum wheat exports
The Russian government has imposed a temporary ban on the export of durum wheat. The corresponding decree was published on the website of the Russian government.
"The decision is aimed at ensuring food safety and helps maintain a stable situation related to the prices of durum wheat products in the domestic market," the document says.
The temporary restriction will take effect from the moment the government decision is announced and will be valid until May 31, 2024.
At the same time, the document provides for a number of exceptions to which the export ban does not apply. This includes durum wheat exports and deliveries under international humanitarian aid and international intergovernmental agreements, the report said.
At the same time, it is allowed to export durum wheat to the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union - Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, within the quotas set by the government's decision, based on the permits issued by the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia.
