QR code required to enter Russia

Starting June 30, 2025, foreign citizens arriving in Russia on a visa-free basis will be required to pre-register and receive a QR code through the "Gosuslugi RuID" mobile application. The consular department of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Russia has issued a warning about this.

The QR code must be presented when crossing the border.

To register, you need to create a personal account, upload a photo and personal data, and indicate the duration of your stay in Russia. The application must be submitted at least 72 hours before your trip.

The message states that if the need to arrive arises suddenly (for example, due to a serious illness or death of a close relative), the application can be submitted even 4 hours before the scheduled departure.

Belarusian citizens, children under 6 years old, and persons with a visa, temporary or permanent residence permit are exempt from registration.

For children aged 6 to 18, the application is submitted by their parents or legal representatives - they must also have a personal registration code.
