Yesterday, June 28, Russian President Vladimir Putin, in an online conversation with members of the Security Council, focused on the need to produce more medium- and short-range nuclear missiles.

Putin cited the US presence of medium and short-range missile systems around the world as an example.

"The United States not only manufactures these missile systems, but also places them in Europe and Denmark. They recently sent such missiles to the Philippines," Putin said.

According to him, Russia must take retaliatory measures.

"It seems that we also have to produce missiles carrying nuclear warheads. Then we have to decide where to place them to ensure our security," said the Russian leader.

For information, in 2019, the United States withdrew from the treaty signed in 1987 with the former alliance on nuclear missiles with a range of 500 to 5,500 kilometers.
