Priest Ostrovsky explained why Russian women are marrying Muslims

Priest Pavel Ostrovsky, pastor of the St. George Church in the town of Nakhabino, Moscow Region, expressed his opinion on why Christian Russian women often marry Muslim men, Fontanka.ru reported.

According to the priest, the main reason for this situation is that Orthodox men avoid responsibility and are in no hurry to start a family.

"Many girls are marrying Muslims because the guys there propose faster, while ours are hanging out in hair salons and gyms. And then they say, 'I don't have money, I haven't decided yet, it's a matter of work, my mother won't allow it.' So there's no need to blame Muslims here," he said on Sputnik radio.

He notes that in some cases, Asian immigrants are becoming a last resort for Russian women in terms of marriage, as the country is full of "weak men who cannot take responsibility." Ostrovsky says that some of the women he knows have married simply because they were invited, because they had no other choice.

The priest emphasized that patriotism and love for one's homeland begin with a "traditional family," not with taking steps left or right.
