NYT: Trump wants to redistribute the world

According to The New York Times, US President Donald Trump's recent actions indicate that he wants to divide the world between the United States, Russia, and China.

Some analysts believe that Trump envisions a world in which the so-called three great powers, the United States, China, and Russia, each dominate a specific part of the globe. The authors of the publication argue that such a redivision of the world would be "a return to the imperial rule of the 19th century."

The NYT mentioned the American president's desire to seize Greenland from Denmark, annex Canada, and regain full control over the Panama Canal.

"The US's attempts to expand its dominance in the Western Hemisphere are the clearest sign yet of its desire to create an American sphere of influence," the newspaper wrote. In addition, last week, Trump expressed a desire to restore trade relations with Russia and "limit the consequences of his global trade war" and called on Chinese leader Xi Jinping to reach out to him.
