North Korea Delivers 9 Million Shells and 100 Missiles to Russia

According to a report by the UN-backed Multinational Sanctions Monitoring Group (MSMG), North Korea delivered approximately 9 million artillery shells and more than 100 ballistic missiles to Russia between September 2023 and 2024.

These munitions, ranging in caliber from 82 mm to 170 mm, were delivered in at least 49 sea shipments, then loaded by rail to Russian warehouses for use in Ukraine.

Some ballistic missiles were launched at the cities of Kiev and Zaporizhia, targeting civilian infrastructure. Fragments recovered from them confirmed that they were manufactured by North Korea, including new models of the Hwasong-11A/B type with a 2024 model year.

In response, Russia provided air defense systems, electronic warfare equipment, and at least one Pantsir combat vehicle, and also sent 11,000 North Korean soldiers to Russia's Kursk region.

It was also reported that Moscow shared ideas and recommendations that helped improve the missile guidance system.
