Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has accepted the recommendations of National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir to restrict Muslim access to the Al-Aqsa Mosque during Ramadan. This was reported by Israel's Channel 13 TV channel.
It is noted that the prime minister ignored warnings from the Shin Bet (Shabak) internal security agency that this decision could lead to clashes between Palestinians and Israeli police.
A final decision in this regard is expected in the near future.
Israeli security forces have been preventing tens of thousands of worshipers from entering the Al-Aqsa Mosque since the start of Israel's aggression on the Gaza Strip on October 7.
