Netanyahu arrives in Washington to discuss Gaza situation with Trump
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited Washington at the invitation of US President Donald Trump. During Netanyahu's visit to the US, he planned to hold important talks with President Trump.
Israel's permanent representative to the United Nations, Danny Danon, welcomed Netanyahu to Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland and posed for a photo with other officials. "I am pleased to welcome Prime Minister Netanyahu to Washington to meet with President Trump. These are important talks that will strengthen the deep alliance and expand cooperation between our countries," Danon said in a statement.
Before his flight to the United States, Netanyahu noted that the strikes against Hamas and Hezbollah had changed the "face of the Middle East" and said that the decisions made had made it possible to "redraw the map of the region." At the same time, Netanyahu said that he believed that by working closely with Trump, this map could be changed more effectively.
Netanyahu is expected to meet with Trump's special envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, at the White House on Tuesday and hold talks with President Trump. The meeting is expected to discuss key issues including the situation in Gaza, the prisoner issue, and Iran policy.
