Muslim students warned ahead of Trump inauguration

Several universities in the United States are urging international students on winter break not to delay their return in time for Donald Trump's inauguration, citing concerns over Trump's executive order restricting entry to the United States for citizens of certain Muslim-majority countries during his previous presidency.

After Trump took office in 2017, he imposed travel restrictions on citizens of Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen. These restrictions have prevented students from these countries from continuing their studies in the United States. As a result, universities are working to ensure that students can return to the United States before the new administration takes office.

The University of South Carolina has advised students to return to classes no later than January 13, a week before the new administration takes office. Trump's campaign promises to crack down on immigration have fueled concerns among students and universities.
