Muhammad al-Bashir became the head of the transitional government of Syria

Muhammad al-Bashir was appointed the head of the transitional government in Syria. His mission will last until March 1, 2025. This appointment is considered an important stage of political changes in Syria.

In 2017, al-Bashir led the opposition Salvation Government, which was formed by the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) group.

The Salvation Government operated in Idlib province under the control of HTS during the civil war.

As the head of the new transitional government, Mohammed Bashir will be responsible for reorganizing Syria's political process and achieving stability.

On December 8, opposition forces in Syria, including HTS, attacked Damascus and announced the overthrow of the regime of President Bashar Assad. After that, Assad and his family took refuge in Russia.

Bashar Assad ruled Syria for 24 years. His family has dominated the country's political system since 1971.

Under the leadership of Muhammad al-Bashir, he will work to ensure a new political system and stability.

It is expected to pave the way for the unification of the areas controlled by the opposition forces.

These changes could lead to a reduction in bloodshed in the civil war, as well as support from the international community for a political solution to Syria.
