Moscow: France is taking revenge for its failure in Africa
The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia reacted to the opening of the defense mission of France in Moldova and the activation of its actions in the South Caucasus.
Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, mocked French President Emmanuel Macron's plans to open a defense mission in Moldova and intensify efforts in the South Caucasus on her Telegram channel, TRT writes.
According to him, the enthusiasm of the French president is connected with the desire to compensate for the failures of Paris in Africa.
"They left not only Mali, but also other African countries. <...> It was a shame for the whole world - lost positions, unfulfilled obligations," he said , referring to the failure of the French to fulfill their duties during the eight years they were in Mali.
" And then Armenia and Moldova appeared. Accordingly, in theory, you can work on your muscles in the gym and engage in reconnaissance activities along the perimeter of Russia's borders. It is as if a French missile did not come to them from Ukraine. It will be a laugh," the diplomat added.
It should be noted that on March 7, during the visit of Moldovan President Saya Sandu to France , an agreement on defense cooperation between the two countries was signed in Paris.
