Moldova closes Russian House in Chisinau
The Moldovan government has decided to close the Russian-funded cultural center in Chisinau, the "House of Russia," the country's Foreign Ministry said.
The decision was made after Russian drones crashed in Moldovan territory. President Maia Sandu condemned Moscow's actions, saying they threatened the security of Moldovan citizens.
Russian Ambassador Oleg Ozerov was summoned to the ministry and asked for an official explanation, but he said he was not sure whether the drones belonged to Russia.
Along with Moldova, Romania has strongly condemned Russia's attacks on Ukrainian ports. The Romanian defense ministry, a NATO member, said it had detected unidentified drones entering its airspace.
This was the latest step taken by the Moldovan government to counter Russian influence. Earlier, Azerbaijan also decided to close the "Russian House".
