Famous American actor, producer and activist Mark Ruffalo has condemned the Israeli ground attack on the southern Gaza Strip city of Rafah, which is accused of genocide.

Ruffalo X reposted UNICEF's James Elder's post on the plight of Palestinians in Rafah, the southernmost settlement of the blockaded enclave.

The actor drew attention to the fact that the children of Gaza and the people of Rafah are in dire need of help.

He said the people of Rafah are mostly sent to "concentration camps" where they are treated with hatred and cruelty.

“Die in the desert or at home. This is the choice given to Palestinians today,” Ruffalo said in the release.

The Israeli army announced yesterday morning that it launched a ground attack on the city of Rafah and took control of the checkpoint of the same name on the border with Egypt.
