Man who shot Israeli embassy staff could face death penalty



The U.S. Department of Justice has indicted Chicago man Elias Rodriguez, suspected of killing two Israeli embassy employees in Washington, D.C., on one count that could carry the death penalty.

American media reports that Rodriguez has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder, murder of a foreign official, and use of a firearm. At the scene, the man told police that he committed the crime "in support of Palestine and the Gaza Strip." According to witnesses, he shouted "Freedom for Palestine" after being arrested.
