Los Angeles fire death toll rises to 28
The death toll from wildfires that have been raging in and around Los Angeles for 16 days has risen to 28, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office said.
The Palisades fire has burned about 24,000 acres (9,712 ha ) and is 65% contained. The I- ton Canyon fire has burned about 14,000 acres (5,666 ha) and is 89% contained.
Also, 85 people were evacuated due to the Lilac Fire in San Diego, and the fire is 50% contained.
According to official figures, the economic damage caused by the fires is estimated at approximately $250-275 billion.
It should be noted that earlier it was reported that the Los Angeles fire had spread to 39,000 acres (15,783 ha), burning more than 12,000 buildings and entire communities. About 180,000 people were evacuated in Southern California.
