Kadyrov said he sent more than 60,000 Chechens to war
Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov said that "60,344 fighters have been sent to participate in the war in Ukraine."
Of those sent to war, 22,064 are volunteers, while there are currently 13,000 combatants in the combat zone.
"Currently, we have more than 11,000 young men from the Ministry of Defense, the Rosgvardia, the Akhmat special forces, and the Chechen Ministry of Internal Affairs at the front," Kadyrov wrote on his Telegram channel at the time.
The total number of security forces deployed from Chechnya does not include soldiers who are in barracks, on leave, or returning from combat duty as part of a rotation. According to human rights activists, there is a practice of forcing people to sign contracts in Chechnya.
For your information, Kadyrov said during a meeting with the Russian president on May 7 that 55.5 thousand fighters, including 21.6 thousand volunteers, have been sent from Chechnya since the start of the war.
