Japanese hotels are now requiring Israeli* citizens to provide receipts

The Wind Villa Hotel in Kyoto required Israeli* citizens to sign a waiver of war crimes upon check-in.

According to TRT, the incident occurred when the Israeli guest presented his passport at the registration desk .

Initially, he refused to sign such a document, but later, upon learning that this requirement applied not only to Israelis, but also to Russian guests, he agreed.

The hotel manager described the measure as necessary to ensure their own safety and explained who they were allowed to receive. The text of the receipt reads:

"I have not participated in any war crimes that violate international and humanitarian law; including attacks on civilians (children, women, etc.), killing or cruel treatment of surrendered or captured persons, torture or inhuman treatment, sexual violence, forced displacement, looting, or other similar crimes."

"I have also never participated in planning, ordering, aiding or abetting war crimes. I undertake to abide by international and humanitarian law and not to participate in any form of war crimes in the future."

The report says that a similar incident occurred at another hotel in Kyoto, where an Israeli* citizen was refused service due to concerns that he may have participated in hostilities.
