Japanese actress Kae Asakura converts to Islam after trip to Malaysia

Japanese actress Kae Asakura has converted to Islam after a trip to Malaysia, Mothership.sg reports.

The actress announced her conversion to Islam in a TikTok video. According to Asakura, she was visiting mosques in Kuala Lumpur when locals gave her a headscarf as a gift.

"The hijab suited me perfectly. The people were so kind and sincere towards me that I decided to learn more about their culture. If they welcome me with open arms, why shouldn't I get to know their way of life?" the actress recalls.

During Ramadan, Asakura shared his first-ever fasting experience on social media. He even posted a video inviting his fans to break their fast.

According to Asakura, Muslims who heard that he had converted to Islam gave him various gifts - dates, books, and even a prayer rug brought from Mecca.
