The Israeli Army General Staff Group B is investigating the death of 12 Israelis in the Beeri kibbutz (settlement) . It is noted that the house was fired upon by the order of a high-ranking officer of the Israeli occupation army , reports Haaretz .

Yasmin Porat and Xadas Dagan, two Israelis who survived the incident, said that the house was not fired upon by H AMAS soldiers, but by TsAXAL tanks.

According to the newspaper, this raises suspicions that Brigadier General Barak Hiram, the commander of Israel's 99th Army Division, which led the fighting in Beeri, ordered the tank crew to open fire on the house despite the presence of hostages.
