Launched in 2021 by the New Jersey-based World Hijab Day organization, the annual global event aims to highlight the achievements and contributions of Muslims to civilization over the centuries.
Over the past years, new initiatives and changes can be observed slowly.
"However, if we look at our social media, we can see that participation in this year's events is 10 times higher than last year. From pioneering scholars to forward-thinking art critics, from compassionate leaders to progressive scientists, the history of Muslims is full of stories of resilience, innovation and compassion," the organization said in a statement.
