In Tajikistan, those who visit fortune tellers or sorcerers can also be punished.

The Tajik government has proposed to the country's parliament to introduce fines for visiting fortune tellers and sorcerers and using their services, ASIA-Plus reports.

If the offer is accepted, clients of fortune tellers and magicians will be fined up to 750 somoni (around $81).

It is noted that over the past year, Tajik authorities have stepped up the fight against fortune-tellers and sorcerers. Last summer, the Tajik Ministry of Internal Affairs announced that it would summon citizens who visited fortune-tellers and sorcerers to authorities and place their names and photos in the agency's database.

The ministry explained that this is being done in order to deprive fortune tellers and sorcerers of clients and ultimately put an end to their activities.

For your information, in Tajikistan, practicing fortune-telling and witchcraft is punishable by a fine of 6,000 to 7,500 somoni (approximately $631.6 to $789.5).
