The Hezbollah movement in Lebanon has rejected the appointment of the chairman of the executive council of the movement, Hashim Safiyeddin, to the post of secretary general after the death of Hassan Nasrallah. Harakat urged not to believe such reports until the official announcement of the Hezbollah leadership.

The Hezbollah movement in Lebanon rejected the appointment of the chairman of the executive council of the movement, Hashim Safiyiddin, to the position of secretary general after the death of Hassan Nasrullah, Anadolu reported.

In a written statement, Hezbollah stated that the reports in some media about the appointment of a new general secretary have no significance.

"We want to make it clear that the reports in some mass media about the organizational procedures in the leadership of Hezbollah after the martyrdom of the Secretary General (Hasan Nasrullah) are not true," the statement said.

In the statement, it is also noted that the work of the leadership of Hezbollah continues in this regard.

Hezbollah urged not to believe such reports until the official statement of the leadership of the movement.

It should be noted that earlier Al Arabiya and other publications reported that Hezbollah's Shura Council (the main governing body) appointed Hashim Saifuddin, the cousin of the late Hasan Nasrullah and the son-in-law of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani, as the leader of the movement.
