Hamas delays prisoner release due to Israel's breach of conditions
Abu Obeida, spokesman for the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, said that the release of the prisoners was delayed due to Israel's failure to comply with the agreed conditions.
Abu Obeidah stated that the breach of the agreement includes the following factors:
Israel's delay in returning refugees to northern Gaza;
Shootings against refugees in various regions;
Denial of all types of humanitarian aid.
The prisoner exchange process between Hamas and Israel is ongoing, with Hamas previously agreeing to exchange kidnapped prisoners for Palestinians held in Israeli prisons on October 7. However, the process was postponed due to violations of the terms of the agreement.
Hamas stressed that it will remain committed to its commitments and that the prisoners will be released if Israel fulfills its contractual obligations.
According to analysts, the exact date for the prisoner release is not yet known, as negotiations are still ongoing.
