Gaza reconstruction initiative announced
Yahya al-Sarraj, head of the Gaza Strip Municipalities Union, announced the launch of the "Phoenix Gaza Action Initiative for the Reconstruction and Sustainable Development of Gaza" to address the devastation caused by Israeli attacks.
The main goal of the initiative is to recover from post-war casualties, losses in infrastructure and services, as well as to develop human and social capacity.
Sarraj stressed that the initiative aims to preserve the historical and cultural identity of Gaza and is based on broad community participation. At the same time, he called on the international community to support the initiative.
The initiative includes a roadmap that encompasses the concepts of reconstruction, economic development, and sustainable development.
According to reports, Israeli military attacks have destroyed 88 percent of Gaza's infrastructure.
