Calls for violence and civil war in far-right online communities have sharply increased after the assassination of former US President Donald Trump, Wired reports.

Researchers from the non-profit organization Advance Democracy have discovered many disturbing messages on pro-Trump forums and Telegram channels .

On The Donald, a forum known for its role in coordinating the events of January 6, users are openly calling for violence.

"The war is now. We need to finish what should have been done after the civil war: destroy and eliminate all democrats and anyone who even thinks about being a democrat," supporters of right-wing ideas are sharing.

Threats also sounded on Telegram channels related to the Proud Boys group:

"Unfortunately, they blew their only chance with this failed attempt, because now they will see the consequences of mocking the bear, the true patriotic Americans, for so long."

"From the top down and the bottom up, from members of Congress to right-wing influencers to neo-Nazi Telegram channels, the message is clear: 'We must strike back.'

We remind you that yesterday, on July 14, former US President Donald Trump was shot during an election campaign in Butler, Pennsylvania. A bullet pierced Trump's ear, but one person was killed and two others were injured in the shooting.
