Dagestan's mufti criticizes women who demand too much from their husbands

The mufti of Dagestan has criticized the influence of some women on social media. Daniyol Umailov, chairman of the Makhachkala Council of Imams, said that "modern customs" forming in society are negatively affecting family values.

According to him, even if a woman earns little money, under the influence of those around her, she shows disrespect for her husband, who earns money honestly through prostitution or illegal work.

"The husband works honestly and provides for his family. His wife considers him unlucky," said the imam.

Umailov criticized some Dagestan women for using social media to find excuses to divorce their husbands, even though they are working hard to provide for their families.

According to the representative of the mufti, such problems are caused by the ideas that "women should be independent and free" that are spreading on the Internet and social networks. This undermines true values and the strength of families.
