Conservative political activist, Trump supporter, shot dead

Charles Kirk, an influential ally of President Donald Trump, a right-wing activist and commentator, was assassinated in the United States.

The incident occurred while Kirk was giving a speech on the campus of Utah Valley University. According to initial reports, he was shot from about 200 meters away. The bullet hit Kirk in the neck. Images circulating on social media show blood pouring from his neck.

The victim was taken to hospital in critical condition. However, US President Donald Trump later announced that he had died. Authorities are calling it a "political assassination" and the shooter has not yet been caught.

For reference, Charles Kirk was 31 years old. He is the founder of the student movement Turning Point USA, which promotes conservative values among young people. Kirk's podcast platform, which has millions of subscribers, is recognized as one of the main factors in Trump's victory in the election.
