In a statement issued on May 6, the Israeli army warned of the evacuation of some neighborhoods east of Rafah where displaced Palestinians have taken refuge.
After that, on May 7, the Israeli army announced that it launched a ground attack on Gaza's Rafah area and captured the border crossing with Egypt on the Gaza side.
