China successfully completes hydrogen bomb test
Chinese scientists have successfully completed a hydrogen bomb test without using nuclear materials, the South China Morning Post reported.
According to the publication, the explosion of the device, which weighed only two kilograms, created a fireball with a temperature of more than 1,000 degrees Celsius, which was maintained for more than two seconds.
The study notes that the same amount of TNT equivalent would have produced a fireball that would have "existed" for 15 times less time.
The device's creators claim that the intensity of the bomb's explosion can be precisely controlled, which allows it to evenly destroy targets over a large area.
This explosive device was developed by the 705 Research Institute of the China State Shipbuilding Corporation, which plays a key role in developing underwater weapons.
